20k Potentiometer

These linear taper 20k single-turn potentiometers can be panel or PCB mounted.

These linear taper pots are single-turn with approximately 300 degrees of actual rotation.  Rotation is smooth with good linearity.

For panel mounting, the shaft can be installed through a 7mm or 9/32″ diameter hole and captured in place with the supplied washer and 10mm nut.  Wires can be soldered to the pins.

The pot has a locator tab for enclosures that have a locator slot to keep the body of the pot from rotating.  If this tab is in the way, it can be snapped off easily using a pair of pliers.

For PCB mounting, the leads are solder type with standard spacing on 5.08mm (0.2″) centers that work with standard 0.1″ perf hole spacing.  The leads are not long enough to work with solderless breadboards.

The shaft has a 6mm diameter by 15mm long.  It is slotted and knurled the last 7mm of its length.  If mounted on a PCB and recessed behind a panel, it can be adjusted with a slotted screwdriver.  If mounted through a panel, a standard knob designed for a 6mm shaft diameter can be added.
